My name is Shannon. Today I am 502 days away from my 30th birthday, and and 500 days out from what I am hoping will be the best vacation to Walt Disney World. With the excitement of passing this date milestone with the ability to finally book the trip, I created this blog to document this journey to look back on my experience, and hopefully fill a hole in the Disney travel blog space for solo travelers.
I am coming into this adventure with little personal experience. I have only been to WDW once in my life. February 2010 I went to WDW with my high school marching band. It was honestly one of my most memorable trips. Nothing beats marching in a parade down Mainstreet in the Magic Kingdom on Valentine's Day. So much has changed at the parks in 11 years. I often joke to my Disney-loving friends how last time I was in Disney World we didn't have magic bands and all the fast passes were paper. I talk about my Disney experience as if I were 90 sitting on my front porch telling my great-grandchildren about my life. It really hasn't been that long in the lifetime of Disney World. Beyond this one trip ever since I decided on my future travel plans I have been watching Disney vlogs and informational videos like crazy. Disney Food Blog is one of my favorites among the countless number of content creators I have watched.

| Me in Magic Kingdom in 2010 |
This blog is going to be mainly me exploring what the experience is like planning a solo trip to Disney World from the eyes of someone who has not done a lot of long-term solo travelling or Disney trip planning. I have already started planning my trip a bit (I have been saving for it too since 2019), but I will make sure we are up to speed quickly. I also want to go back and look at my last Disney World trip in 2010, because even though it was run through school I did plan a LOT for those few days we were in the parks. When that 500 day countdown finally reaches 0, I will be so excited to share my experiences of what is was like taking this trip. I am excited to have this to look back on in another 10 years to have a document of this adventure.
I hope to post at least once a week if not more, so look forward to more content coming soon!
